Title: Fishguts Barnegat bay crabbing report
Post by: Capt. Birch on July 14, 2011, 09:03:28 PM
It is on!!!!! After hearing the daily reports of the good crabbing from my friends at dockoutfitters  I want to check it out but have not had the free time. Today was a blow out and after hearing Capt Jerry was jonezin for some fresh blue claws I grabbed a few box traps and headed across the bay. I fished 5 small box traps on buoys rather than anchoring the boat and fish a little over 1 hour. the results.........36 keepers kept (24 of them big boys) It looks like its hey you have to crabbing good right now. I hear the whole area is holding but I set up west of the ICW markers between Good Luck Point and the Toms River on the mud bottom. If you go bring plenty of bait and few baskets. I will post proof pics soon lol
