Title: Reel McCoy II late report 7/16
Post by: Reel McCoy on July 19, 2011, 02:36:26 PM
Went out solo Saturday and headed straight for the 'rocks.  Fished bucktails and gulp for 2 19" keepers out of 16 fish.  About noon I headed offshore near the rattlesnake, after losing several SPROs in the AM I switched to a 5oz bullet head with a 6" white curlytail grub on both the jig and teaser.  In the next 2 hours I landed 6 keepers with the smallest going 21" and the largest about 6lbs, stopped after getting my first limit this season.  Then I decided to meet my wife down on LBI and headed South, it was a nice ride until the wind picked up around IBSP and slowed me down.  3.5 hours later I arrive in Shipbottom.  I headed back north today this time taking the bay route and out Manasquan.  Did manage to fish the Red Church for an hour catching only 5 shorts in one hour.
