Jay was almost a holdout and thought I'd be running solo again :headscra: Starting to get a complex. ;D We talked it through on the phone yesterday and he says there's a possibility he can make and I'm damn sure glad he did. You see... he's got this special thing going on that he's been test running and it's been putting numbers in the big basket. So I get the suprise call that he's in late yesterday and we're both jacked!!! The Belmar trim kid had the whiskey muscles on early yesterday and decided to take a pass. nosmly Where's your priorities? rofla So an early morning arrival and the dock boards are creaking under our weight as we loaded up the ride. The net is pulled out and the hunt is on for target bait. Plenty of blind throws on near high incoming water with our fingers crossed. A couple here and there. Then a good load of Snaps, Pnutz, Tinker Macks, and what look like juvy baracuda. We're loaded for bear, gas up and head out to the grounds in glass smooth water. Almost a carbon copy of yesterday's conditions. We get a fix on the drift and drop fresh bait on tandem spro's. I get an instant wake up call that shook my soul ;) The Seeker is cranked in half. I had no doubt that this stick would hold up to its credentials as I've witnessed it before on Father's day with Paulie! Holy smokes Jay... Get the friggin net!! A third of the way home and this hog decides he's going to play gopher and head for the tunnel... Nope, not having it! Firm, convicted crank and lift redirects the trajectory and the gain is now in my favor. As the albright clicks its way through the tip guide I know we're ready to see shadow and that all too familiar formation of the creation on the other end. "Got Damn" that thing is huge. A quick assessment of how it's going to make net runs through my mind. Jay's got the net in the ready and in my minds eye, for what ever reason, at that moment he reminded me of the ice crew at a Devils game clearing the slush in front of Marty's cage. He scoops the net perfectly under the belly of the beast. Hoisted and flopped on the deck. cfzd cfzd A great fish for sure... A couple a quick snaps of the camera and we're back on it like a wet rag. My day could have been over right then. We searched high and low for the next one hoping to get Jay onto it. He worked his butt off and Schooled me on numbers!!!! He worked the Lami like an artist today. Poked fish on every drop and added to the coffin with a double C bass connection. He put keeper fluke in the penalty box on new grounds we scouted out.
What a day! I'm spent after back to backs. We ended the day with 6 keeper fluke and 5 CB's. Called it quits just before two as the current came in ripping hard! Great day, Brother net man TT^

Awesome catch Jeff! t^ Congratulations on the doormat! clp
BTW, a guy that works with me, and does seining on the side, said he has been catching a ton of those little northern cudas.

Wow, what a whopper!!! Great catch. chrz chrz
The bait fish you got is a northern sennet. It is in the barracuda family. We net them at my dock this time of year.

Again sorry for the late response bro. What a great day out on the water again with you. Your dormat fluke(RUG) cfzd was just awesome. A few more modifications to my invention and it's going 10-1 on anything out there on the market. Can't wait to go out again for testing and catching.. clp
