Title: NJ Fishing Locations, Beachwood
Post by: ped579 on August 04, 2007, 01:53:39 AM
Hi All,

I found a small pier behind the Beachwood Community Center on Compass Ave. It has plenty of parking and there are probably facilities when the Center is open.  It was closed today so I could not find out any more info.

Bring your own bait and please clean up after yourself as the area is very clean and I am sure they would like to keep it that way.

The pier is T shape and goes out about 60' or so into the Toms River.  I could see loads of bait in the water along with crabs climbing the bulkhead. see pictures.  I also noticed a lot of jelly fish in the water bringing home the problem of our bays and estuaries slowly dieing.

Google Maps:

To see the pier zoom in and click the Hybrid.

Happy Catching

Hi Ed,

Thanks, I am having fun doing this project and telling everyone about the site as well.  Good feed back.

I could not believe the amount of jelly fish in this location.  But if you look around that little section there is supper green grass which is loaded with nitrogen fertilizers.  i know they aren't the only area but so far this has been the highest concentration I have noticed.

Happy Catching

Paul
