Title: North Wildwood advice for a novice
Post by: gbru316 on July 30, 2012, 12:23:19 AM
First post, did a quick search but was unable to find anything.

I'm heading down to N Wildwood (staying on E 8th st) for a long weekend this friday and plan on doing some fishing. I've surf fished before, although I'm still very much a novice. I have a basic 9-10' (can't remember) surf rod I bought a few years back, but only get the chance to make it out once a year.

That being said, any tips? I plan on hitting up the seawall by anglesea, perhaps the jetty/pipes by the acropolis, and probably the beach in front of the hotel. I'm also going to visit Jersey bait and tackle which is only a few blocks away.

Is it best to fish the inlet during the transition to low tide, when the warm water is heading out into the ocean? What's hitting this time of year? I'd love to put some blues on the table.

Good luck and enjoy.
There should be fluke, king fish and blues around this time of year.
Definitely hit up Jersey B&T for the local scoop.

Let us know how you do
