9-1-07
Capt. Wayne, on Angela Rose, hosted the Eileen Hannaford Charter for the second time this year, while over on the Angela Rose II, Capt. Anthony hosted the Kevin Strika Charter for some fluke fishing. While mother nature had her way with winds and seas, she couldn't stop us from fishing the Manasquan River. The forecast posted winds out of the north / northeast at 10-15 knots and seas up to 6 feet. With that said, the fishing was very slow today and we only managed to pull 20 something fluke between the Angela Rose and the Angela Rose II and 0 fish made the ice box. Killies and squid strips as well as other choice baits dressed the hooks. There was also a heavy amount of boat traffic that congested the river. All combined made for a tough catch. :(
We did keep things interesting with our Ice Cream Challenge. Simple rules made for great times. The competition was fierce when both boats went head to head and Capt. Anthony's charter came out victorious again. Capt. Anthony has a 3-1 lead over Capt. Wayne. TT^
