Title: Roosters Flukin 9-3
Post by: Peterooster on September 03, 2007, 07:13:42 PM
Tom chose Sandy Hook Channel #7 to start our search for that elusive flatfish, a keeper Fluke. Four oz. of lead held bottom in 50' of water where we started at slack tide, baling Sea Robins. Small as they were Tom turned a few into strip baits. A move over to 30foot depth alongside #7 produced short Fluke as the tide started in. By 10AM the wind really picked up from the West as we took a very bumpy ride into the bay to try a few spots. This is where Tom landed our only keeper Fluke at barely 17". At noon we gave up our search and returned to the slip at AHM. Not a cloud in the sky, it was a perfect weather day for Labor Day. PETE  (°_)°)
