Title: To My Smoking Friends..
Post by: Hotrod on January 31, 2015, 09:16:44 AM
Hoping this can help you.. it has helped me..

As you all know..  I love to smoke.. as all Smokers do..  About 6 months ago I purchased a Vape Pen.. with the intentions of using it here and there.. from then it gradually took my cigarette use down from 2 packs a day to one pack.. reason being it was easier to puff on that than go out side to light one up..  I was using a 10 MG Nicotine level..

In the past month I moved to the 15MG Nicotine level, which for the first couple weeks took me down to about 10 cigarettes a day.. mostly when I drink my coffee..

To help remove that love for Coffee and Cigarets.. I add 1/4 Double espresso juice to my menthol juice.  it's a very pleasant flavor.. like I'm sitting here drinking a cup of coffee and smoking a Cig..

Yesterday was a good day with 3 Cigs in the morning with my coffee 1 at lunch and one in the evening.. for a total of 5 for the day..

My biggest hurdle was to get away from that morning urge of pouring my coffee and running to the porch to smoke and drink my coffee..

Today  I decided to just sit at my desk and Vape with my coffee.. and I was ok with it..  So the road is looking good..

If you smoke..  do yourself a favor.. buy a Vape Pen..  Play with it.. use it..  you will find yourself dropping the cigs a little by little..

Then you can move off the Nicotine slowly and just Vape for flavor..

Also the saving are enormous...  Here is what it look like for me..

Vape Pen optimizer. (1) @ $5.00 a week
Juice                (2) @ $10.00 a week

That's 15$ a week compared to $112.00 a week for cigs..

Best started Kits..

I purchased mine for like $35.00 at my local 7-11  It's the NJOY.
I tried others since but this one seems to do the best for me..

If you go on their site  www.njoy.com (http://www.njoy.com)  and sign up for their newsletter.. they will start sending you 40% off codes..
Buy a kit and some Juice..

The tips ( Optimizers ) need to be replaced about every bottle or so.. so pic up a few..

This kit is like 85$  They have Code for 40% off on the top off their page..   https://www.njoy.com/vaping/vaping-kits/standard-vaping-kit/0

40% Off Vape Kits, Use Code: VAPEKIT40
Limited Quantities! Expires at 11:59pm EST

DO IT.. you will thank me later..

Disclaimer, Buy taking Rod's advice I hereby commit to paying him the sum of 1$ a day for every day I don't smoke a cig.  Up to one year. ;D

Just do it Kenny  Spoke with Greg on it for 30 minutes. He bought his today.
First thing you will find is your pack of cigs start lasting longer. Until the day comes. You just don't buy them any more. Your just buying Juice.  do it!!

Or three tuna trips worth of gas.

Thats really is one of my reasons to stop, the money it costs. Health is a big one to. Nicotine itself is only as bad for you as caffeine. Its the carcinogens in the smoke and the added chemicals they put in that kill you.

As a past smoker and not one of those anti smokers, I think anyone today that is still smoking with all the evidence of how it can cause cancer and heart disease would have enough inspiration to quit based on that, not to mention the cost for killing yourself. Like I said I quit after 30 years of smoking none filtered Camels, and I know it was one of the contributors to me having a heart attach some years later.

Rod; I'm glad you are seeing the light, and I hope you get off everything asap. I have lost to many family and friends to lung cancer, and they all smoked. nosmly

I don't feel like I " Don't Smoke"  I Just Vape Now.  Not much different  as you can see..

Will I have a cigarette ever again?  Yea.. If I want to.. but trying not to..

Not looking for praise here..  just showing there is a better alternative for us all.  The Tobacco companies are starting to feel the pinch!!..

Weening myself off the "Tobacco Flavor"  soon it will just be coffee.

I was using the logic "e cigs" for a while until I read a study on them that said they contained 60 percent more formaldehyde than regular cigs  fcp

They changed a lot since they first came out.. as long as your buying US made liquid it's all fine..

I'm sure one way or another it's not good for you.  But it's better than the 40 cigarettes I smoked a day

Propylene Glycol (PG)
Propylene Glycol is an organic compound created in laboratories and has been approved by the FDA for various purposes. It’s used in theatrical smoke machines, skin and personal care products, pharmaceutical goods and as a food additive in thousands of different products that we consume everyday. In an electronic cigarette, PG is a base that produces vapor and is known for creating a strong ‘throat hit.’ The liquid is colorless, odorless and tasteless, and it’s been studied extensively for years. Research has confirmed its safety in various forms, including vapor.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

Like PG, vegetable glycerin (or vegetable glycerol) is another base ingredient used in electronic cigarettes. VG is derived from vegetable plant oils and is considered 100% natural and safe. Because of it’s thicker properties it tends to produce more vapor, but less throat hit, so many e-cig companies use a combination of PG and VG to produce the most accurate and smooth experience.

Nicotine
Nicotine gets a bad rap, and although it can be highly addictive and produce mild side effects, nicotine DOES NOT cause cancer. There are more than 4,000 other chemicals found in cigarette smoke, many of which are cancer-causing carcinogens and the source of most smoking-related diseases. A stimulant similar to caffeine, nicotine is found naturally in tobacco leaves, as well as 66 other plants such as tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes, peppers and more.

Distilled Water
In some cases, especially when vegetable glycerin (VG) is the primary base being used, distilled
water is added as a diluent to reduce the viscosity of the e-liquid mixture. This helps prevent build up and ensures smooth and trouble-free e-cig operation.

Added Flavoring
One of the attractions to e-cigs for many users is the wide array of flavors. Although the actual ingredients will vary between manufacturers, flavoring is typically made-up of naturally occuring or FDA-approved, food-grade additives. Some examples include:

One day follow up.

I've had my vapor thingy for 24 hours and have had 7 cigs where i would be on a second pack by now. Normal cigs taste weird now, not as good as they used to taste already in just one days time.

I do feel a little withdrawal from normal cigs, but not to bad, or atleast nothing a couple vapor hits can't calm down.

I even stopped at a local vapor shop today to pick up a second battery incase I kill mine, and some wild watermellon flavoring to add to my menthol.

So far I am liking it. Will see how long I can continue.

 More of a follow up.

Yesterday, day #2 I had 6 smokes, and each one had a "Licked an ash tray taste"

With the vaporizer I went through around 4ml of juice yesterday. Shop down the road has 30ml bottles of juice for 15 bucks.

Been up for about two hours today and haven't had a smoke yet, gonna see how long I can hold out.

If you're thinking of trying it,,,, Just Do It, I have been smoking for 27 years, and with the 4 month exception of going through basic training I have smoked every day.

Just read up on it and figure out your nicotine level you should start with ahead of time. You could even check a local shop and compare prices. They should be more than willing to help a newbie get started.

Good going guys,it certainly makes good seance to quit for many reasons.

Taking that average of $8.00 a pack puts the cost of a pack a day at $2920.00 a year. That's a lot of fishing trips or tackle, not to mention the relaxation time you get with fishing. Sounds like a win win situation.

I went to try a smoke today after dinner, my first for the day.

Tasted horrible, took two drags, threw it out and grabbed my vape pen. So I don't think I can count today as a smoke free day.

Cig pack I opened thursday morning still has some left in it where I'd be on pack number five by now.

Thats what I did last week, no commitment to convert, just to try it out... so far I am glad I did.

I still have the feeling that I am missing something, but its not bad. Main thing is after trying the vapor pen, regular cigs taste awful, and I mean awful. It really is like licking an ashtray.

Just went into my truck this morning and can't believe how bad it smelled. Had to scrub the interior down and lysol the crap out of it. Sad to think before this week I never even noticed it. All my jackets I used to go out and smoke with (we don't smoke in the house) had to be washed cause the smell was horrible.

In the beginning.. if you want to have a cig.. have one.. you will start seeing like Greg said they taste like Sh1t..   Just make sure you have enough Juice and Tips on hand..  If the tip goes bad.. which it does in about 4-5 bottle or you run out of juice.. it will be like running out of Cigs..

Enjoy has some great Coupon codes.  once you see that it's your goto thing..  make sure your stocked up t^

Also changing Juice is like changing to a different brand of Cigs..  So one you like what you bought.. there is no going into a Vape store and buying some..  they do have places like 7-11 that sell it.  but a bottle there is 8$ with tax.  where you can get it on line for about 4$ with their coupon codes t^

E-Cigarette Vapor Shown To Repress Immune System

IFL SCIENCE!
February 9, 2015 | by Lisa Winter

Electronic cigarettes have boomed into a $2 billion per year industry since 2007, with claims that they are a safer alternative to traditional smoking. That may be so, in the same way that getting hit in the head with a baseball bat is safer than getting thrown off of a building, but it doesn’t mean that e-cigs are inherently safe. In fact, a new paper published in PLOS ONE by lead author Thomas Sussan from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has found that mice who were exposed to e-cig vapor had weaker immune systems than those who did not.

"Our findings suggest that e-cigarettes are not neutral in terms of the effects on the lungs,” senior author Shyam Biswal said in a press release. "We have observed that they increase the susceptibility to respiratory infections in the mouse models. This warrants further study in susceptible individuals, such as COPD [chronic obstructive pulmonary disease] patients who have switched from cigarettes to e-cigarettes or to new users of e-cigarettes who may have never used cigarettes.”

The study sorted mice into two groups: one was exposed to vapor from Njoy electronic cigarettes for two weeks, and the other breathed only fresh air. The mice didn’t only breathe vapor for two weeks; the exposure was adjusted to mimic the dose that a human would receive by vaping during that timespan. Next, subgroups were created within the vapor and fresh air groups. The first group was exposed to Influenza A, the next was exposed to the pneumonia-causing bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae, and the third group was not given any illness-causing microbes.

The mice that had been exposed to e-cig vapor had infections that were much more severe than their fresh air-breathing counterparts, indicating a weakened immune response. For some of the mice, these infections were lethal. Further investigation into the mice revealed physiological changes that had occurred in the models.

"E-cigarette vapor alone produced mild effects on the lungs, including inflammation and protein damage," Sussan explained. "However, when this exposure was followed by a bacterial or viral infection, the harmful effects of e-cigarette exposure became even more pronounced. The e-cigarette exposure inhibited the ability of mice to clear the bacteria from their lungs, and the viral infection led to increased weight loss and death indicative of an impaired immune response.”

Traditional cigarette smoke contains over 400 toxins, over 60 of which are known carcinogens. Instead of burning tobacco and inhaling toxins through smoke like ordinary cigarettes, an electronic cigarette produces a nicotine aerosol vapor for users to inhale. Though the lack of burning prevents some chemicals from being released, there are still a number of free radicals introduced into the body that can alter DNA and have cancer-causing effects.

"We were surprised by how high that number was, considering that e-cigarettes do not produce combustion products," Sussan concluded. "Granted, it's 100 times lower than cigarette smoke, but it's still a high number of free radicals that can potentially damage cells.”

More study is needed on this subject to fully understand the effect of e-cigarettes on the body, and how it could contribute to disease. E-cigarettes really hit the market about seven years ago, and quickly fell into favor with former smokers of tobacco cigarettes. In 2013, it was reported that more teenagers had tried e-cigarettes than had tried traditional cigarettes, which makes it incredibly important to know what the real risks to these kids will be.

 Thanks Bob.

I'm certain vaping can not be good for you, it's a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils.

Basically I can get sicker than a non smoker, which I do now anyways, and I'll lose some extra weight, although that may not be a bad point.

,,,,,But for now they are still 100 times healthier,, if something bad for you can be considered as such.

Fourth day vaping (yesterday), was smoke free. Didn't even have an urge for a smoke the whole day. I even had to scrub the crap out of my truck to try and get rid of some of the stench I never noticed before.

Today is smoke free so far to, although I did have an urge for a cig on my way to work this morning and I blame it on the ice stressing me a wee bit.

Today I was hanging in the smoke shack on break, which is just a bus stop enclosure with the group of smokers. Let me tell ya, they stunk the place up, but I did not feel the urge to have a cig, even surrounded by smokers in a small space. I'm content with my vaping.

I am happy to see my friends give up tobacco completely (Ah! To breathe the fresh, clean, ocean air on the Phyllis Ann!) ;D  and I hope that using the e-cigs temporarily can help you all do that. t^

That may or may not be substantiated as far as humans are concerned, and a lot of these so called scientific studies are found to be wrong down the road. Like those on eggs and milk and so on.

I'm not really taking sides in this discussion because I have my own opinion on quitting smoking, and Ill keep it to myself. Because these guys are doing something to get off the habit, and that is a move in the right direction.

Me I quit cold turkey after 30 years, but that doesn't mean everyone can do that.

Enlighten me please. What is with the Bounce dryer sheet?

Avoided a big disaster today,,, forgot to grab my back up resupply bag of juice, tank and battery. Made it all the way to work before I figured it out.

I was able to ration myself and make it home with out having to resort to a cig. I was feeling it a bit but was able to maintain control.... still smoke free since saturday.

Great!!  This morning was pretty tough. Had a few hours of full blown major stress.  Like seeing I have to rebuild 30 web sites to work on a new platform.  I was trying everything I could think of to make one work.
And I couldn't figure it out. I was hitting the pipe hard and just couldn't calm down..  I oulled a cig out of the pack and headed for the door....
I stopped and said  what is this going to do..  Nothing unless I want to smoke 2 packs a day again..  Turned around and out it back in the pack.
Called my host and they figures out the issue...
Was a very good test.   I passed.

So after reading all the success you guys are having I bought the NJOY also.

Pretty scary looking device.

Scary message on liquid bottles too.

I am hoping to use it as a crutch during Tax Season so I didn't have to go up and down stairs all day long at the office and slam down a butt in the freezing cold which is not really satisfying for starters.

I bough Classic Tobacco and some Double Expresso.
So far all I filled it with is the Classic Tobacco

Maybe I hit it too hard but the vapor felt like I went back to full strength Marlboro

Guess I nee to hit it lighter?
Can or should I mix the flavors ?

Are these things the same as E-cigs?

Any advice is appreciated.

Congratulations to you guys with your success.

What is the next step to get off of Nicotine ?

I mix..  Put a couple drops of Coffee in there..

A hard hit is great..  just like smoking a cig.

The warning are the nicotine.. keep away from children.

You will be smoking nothing but this while doing taxes..    trust me

E cigs aren't has strong..  ok for the occasional smoker..

Keep playing with it.. In no time you will be off the death sticks t^

The boat trips won't be any different. If I can give up smoking with my coffee.. there is nothing harder than that ahead of me.

We'll see won't we..  Nice to know I'm not in this alone t^

What is the next step to get off of Nicotine ?

Yes, the message on the bottles is for the nicotine. In concentration form it is a deadly poison. If you get it on yourself, be sure to wash it off.

SeaChelle has the menthol and expresso, I put 8-10 drop worth of expresso in the tank on refill and she likes the flavor.

For it hitting to hard, you should be doing one nice easy consistent draw off of it. I've found a nice 1.5 second draw has better flavor than say a 4 second draw. Its not a joint, draw on it as you would a cigarette.

These vapor pens are called ecigs. The things that look like cigarette's are basically the same thing, just less evolved.

From what I can gather for getting off nicotine, use one level for a couple months, then drop the nicotine level for a couple months, then drop again and just keep that process up till you reach zero. Njoy only has 15 and 10 mg/ml ejuices, but a local vape shop will have alot more levels, like 24, 18, 12, 9, 6, 3, and 0.

How much did you smoke, and what level nicotine did you get?

When you fill the tank, hold the pen at an angle and let the juice run down the side of it. Do not get juice in the prong in the middle, that is where your vapor comes from, you do not want a straight juice hit. I've already done that a little bit, with no ill effect, but I wouldn't want to make a habit of it.

Use caution when screwing the tip on after you refill. The threads are very fine. What I do is screw it backwards and you will see/feel the threads drop down when they are lined up, and then tighten away. There should be no gap between the black plastic tip and the metal band.

Having been using the vapor device now for over a year. Few things to remember. Don't run the tank dry. It will cause the coil to burn and it will taste burnt. If it is new tank
fill it and let it sit for 10 minutes. If you are using rebuildable tanks I have gotten away from them. I purchase disposable tanks on ebay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/CE-4-Replacement-Tank-Clearomize-for-Vape-Pen-Lot-of-5-10-15-20-25-Clear-Mixed-/271629928843?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item3f3e67c98b
Use 4 or 5 days then replace. Or if you are using different flavors good to have more than 1 tank. Use a Qtip with alcohol to keep the threads clean and top of battery. slt

14 days no Cigs.  Doing good.. no urge.

I'm going through about 2 Bottles in 3 days. 10ML a day / 3/4 Bottle ( need to start cutting that Back)

Tips start tasting funny after 3 days..  But still work.. so I took four of them and washed them out with hot soapy water.. waiting for them to dry a few days and I'll see if they work well..

There is a big different in a new tip and one that went through 4 bottles..

My weekly Cig cost was $125.00
This is at $35.00

Using the 35% code at enjoy.. Buying enough Juice and Tips for 2 weeks..

Juice $5.75
Tips $5.75

What helps..  Is I "Njoy It"  ;D and I Love the savings..

48 hour update

Been using the pen now for 48 hours and not one smoke, going through a tank to a tank and ¼.

I wanted to know how much juice I should go through so I did some research.

A bottle of juice is 10ml of 10 or 15mg of nicotine or 100 or 150mg’s per bottle.

An average cigarette is 0.5mg of nicotine, the equivalent of 10mg per pack.

A tank is 1.6ml, so one tank is equivalent of 15mg of juice equals 2 ½ packs of smokes.

Further research says when vaping your body absorbs 40 to 60% of the nicotine.

That brings a tank to around a pack to a pack and a quarter of smokes.

So I contacted two guys that are smarter than me to check my numbers and they both agreed with the numbers.  pawle

So I want to try to get to one tank a day and cut back from there.

Also it was brought to my attention that the tank was made that size so if you filled it in the morning you should be good for the day if you are a pack a day smoker.

I don't buy that.. My research says different..

First, do electronic cigarettes deliver the same amount of nicotine to the bloodstream as a traditional cigarette? Answer – No. The Ecigarette Research Advocates Group3 conducted a study Nicotine Absorption from Electronic Cigarette Use where they found “Nicotine absorption from e-cigarettes was significantly lower compared to tobacco cigarettes. In reality, 5 minutes of use led to ⅓ to ¼ of the plasma nicotine levels with smoking one tobacco cigarette. Even after 1 hour of use, users could not obtain plasma nicotine levels similar to smoking one cigarette in 5 minutes. The new-generation device was more efficient in nicotine delivery, with nicotine levels being 35-72% higher than those observed by using the first-generation device.” These results are nearly identical to a study by Scientific Reports4  Nicotine Absorption from Electronic Cigarette Use. It concluded: “Compared to smoking one tobacco cigarette, the electronic cigarette device and liquid used in this study delivered ⅓ to ¼ the amount of nicotine after 5 minutes of use. New-generation devices were more efficient in nicotine delivery but still delivered nicotine much slower compared to tobacco cigarettes.” Based on these studies, it appears that vaping offers a significantly lower nicotine level than smoking a traditional cigarette. - See more at: http://blog.mtbakervapor.com/nicotine-absorption-when-vaping/#sthash.ZYSS3lvk.dpuf

Call your Vape shop.. I did  and they say it's hard to compare.. it's like apples and oranges..  The guy I spoke to is coming off 2 packs a day and using 6-7 mls of juice a day..

Do what works for you..  But one tank isn't giving your the same amount off nicotine in your blood stream as a pack of cigs..

The variables here are the absorption rate of e-cig vs a regular cigarette

My research showed .5 mg nicotine per Marboro light ... Is that total available nicotine ? And what % of that does the smoker get into his bloodstream ??  Thats the variable ...

We can calculate the amount of Nicotine in a bottle of juice very easy ..again what is the bodies absorption rate ??  More variables ..

Material that I read last night suggests between 40 to 60 %  so I used 50% for my calculations

So some simple straight math says that there is 150mg ( Of total available nicotine )  per 15mg bottle @ 10ml ( 10 X 15 = 150 )

150 mgs of Nicotine = to the stated value my research discovered  of 300 Marboro lights @ .5 mgs per cigarette  ( a carton and a half ) . ( In total available nicotine ) ( 150mgs of nicotine divided by .5 mg = 300

The above is assuming a 100% absorption of all available nicotine ...

Assume a 50% rate of absorption with a vape pen ...and I get to 150 cigarette ( 7.5 packs ) per 10 ml bottle

Assume a 25% rate of absorption with vale pen .. And we get to 75 cigarettes ( 3 3/4 packs ) per 10 ml bottle

I think the bottom line here is to not over do the juice because it appears it would be very easy to increase our daily nicotine level with out even knowing being that's it's difficult to quantify the nicotine on the vape vs a cigarette ..

Common sense would dictate that if a two pack a day smoker using a vale pen and not craving a cigarette is getting at the very least an equal
Amount of nicotine .... And perhaps is exceeding that and not even knowing ...explaining no cravings ...

In conclusion .. I would only hit the vape if feeling the urge to light up.. Take a puff or two to suppress the urge ... And then wait for the next urge to light up before another  round on the vape pen ... Because to me if you don't crave the nicotine you have at the very least consumed and equal your body requires and was accustomed to ...or exceeded what your intake was with the normal cigarettes.....hence no urge to light up ..

Would be very easy to ratchet up your bodies nicotine addiction under the guise of trying to quit without even knowing....

It's all about getting your nicotine needed level down.

It seams it would be easy to increase it with the pen.

If i use 1/2 bottle a day.  trust me.. I'm not getting the nicotine the same as smoking 4 packs of cigarettes..  This has been researched by people who have staid in a holiday inn..

If you look  Most people coming off 1-2 packs a day are using 3-6 ml of juice a day.  If you can get through the day with 1.5 mils..  you shouldn't even be smoking this. you don't need it..

Saying 1-2 puffs= a cig..  Is not correct..

Let me know how you make out with 1.5 mil a day coming off 2 packs ;D

YES! Very true
But you don't want to raise the amount of nicotine you are taking in.

That's all I'm saying

Put me on a fishing boat for a day and I can out smoke just about anyone.

Let me go though a normal day and I will smoke a pack to a pack and a half.

I am at about 3/4 of a tank so far today and should end up around a tank. If I didn't need this like you say, I would be fighting with someone by now.

Nicotine is the chemical that causes the heart disease ...
The other chemicals cause the cancers ....

From  http://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/23/suppl_2/ii30.full (http://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/23/suppl_2/ii30.full)

Ten minutes after the 10-puff bout, plasma nicotine concentrations significantly increased to 6.77 ng/mL. Although direct comparisons to traditional cigarettes cannot be made, plasma nicotine concentrations following a single cigarette average 15–20 ng/mL

From same site,,,
Trehy and colleagues measured nicotine yield in 100 mL puffs from eight NJOY, Smoking Everywhere and CIXI products.3 Labelled nicotine content ranged from 11 to 24 mg/cartridge. Nicotine yield was highly variable, ranging from 0 to 43.2 µg nicotine/100 mL puff. For comparison, a Marlboro cigarette yielded 152–193 µg nicotine/100 mL puff with the same experimental method.

 Taken from http://www.healthnz.co.nz/cancerrisk.htm
In e-cigarettes, the nicotine inhaled per puff is much less than (about one tenth) in a cigarette puff

With the njoy tips I'm was doing like 3 tanks a day.

With this new vapor set up I have, it has a 5ml tank. The new tank in itself will burn more juice per hit, and i'm doing like 7ml a work day. 10ml on an off day.

With the new tank, knowing it was gonna burn more juice, I dropped down to 12mg/ml of nic from njoys 15mg/ml nic level. Couple weeks and I plan to drop to 10mg/ml.

Read some of that article Greg ..

Says that when the machine was used the nicotine was absorbed was moderately less ( define Moderately )

I continued to read and the article the  stated that when they studied experienced e~cig smokers the nicotine intake more resembled a real cigarette ...

Here's my point ...

If you smoked x amount of cigs per day there was a particular amount of nic consumed ... Different for each person depending on brand and packs a day smoked right ???

For the guys that are using the e cig and boast that they are fine and no withdrawals or cravings !!!  That's great !!

But are they consuming the same amount of nic as they were with reg cigs or going way over that ? How  do you tell ??  You may feel great and think finally gona kick this habit and have no idea you are consuming 2 maybe 3 times more nicotine which is not a good thing ..

Rick and I are trying to get a feel for what amount of juice replaces a pack a day or 2 packs a day ...

If you vape all day and crave a cig a couple of times during the day I'd say you are at or slightly below the nic level you got while you smoked cigs ..

If you vape all day and have no cravings I would suggest you are consuming around the same amount of nic as with the cigs . Or more and how much more could be a lot .

Each of us are addicted to nicotine ... And our bodies need a certain amount of it everyday ... Some 20 cigs ... Some more but our body wants about the same amount everyday...

Just trying to put an amount of juice that is equal to an amount of cigs ..

I don't want to go from a pack of cigs to e-vaping the equivalent of 5 packs in nicotine ...

I'd still put this thing at around a tank per pack..  Pack in a half   ( aprox ) due to the figures and math a did ...

You will find what makes you feel ok..
And you will find when it's not doing enough..

It's different for everyone.  I am happy with the amount I'm doing and I don't think it's worse than smoking 2 packs a day..  In time.. I will work it down..

My update is no cigs in 2 weeks

Doing about 5Ml a day.. And I don't feel like I smoked 5 Packs worth of Nicotine for the day..

The main problem with the debate, is there really is no direct relation from one to the other. I tried as I could to find the differences, but they just aren't there. Only best guesses. There was a couple more sites I can't refind that also stated with 16mg/ml nic level 10 ecig drags equaled 1 analog cig drag.

Think it all has to do with absorption rate and level of the user. Some of the big time vapers will fill a whole damn room with vapor from one drag,, I think they would be higher than an analog cig.

Regardless, I'm huffing away and gonna keep dropping my nic level till I can hit 0, then you can just stop and walk away.

I didn't get into it to quit smoking, I just wanted to see what it was about, that way I didn't set myself up for failure.

When you do get it, First and foremost, allow the juice to soak into the tips wick for a few minutes.

Then what i did was play with it, take a few hits off it. Go have an analog cig if you want. Then here and there take a few more drags of the vape, and eventually you'll find yourself wanting the vape more than the cigs, they will start to taste worse as you go.

Then finally you'll be washing all your coats, and scrubbing the crap out of your truck cause it smells so bad in there.

I still have 5.5 packs of smokes left from a carton I bought on the 31st of January. Four and a half sitting in the pantry and one pack in my truck with a lighter just for the hell of it.

If I was gonna crack that pack from my truck open it would have been yesterday. Cruising up the turnpike on my way to work yesterday my truck decided it wanted to spin out. I was pretty much in the center lane, it was a white out road. Ass kicked out right with me heading for the median barrier, got it caught back up with the front, but couldn't hold it and kicked out to the left with me closing in on the guard rail. Finally got it stopped about one foot from the rail. Thank goodness I was by myself with closest traffic 1/4 mile behind me. Didn't even think of having a cig,,, just grabbed my vape and was content. So if that didn't break me, I don't think much will now.

From what I read don't rush it.  They say keep your nicotine level the same and work on breaking the habit you have. Like getting in the truck and lighting up or that thing you do everyday and light up. I've seen 3-7 weeks of working on that and then cut back on the nicotine in small steps every 3-4 weeks.
Just an FYI

Good job Lenny  t^

Ordered it from world of vape  30ml of 12mg nic for 15 bucks. Only downfall is that it only comes in 12mg nic or none, or at least that was the only option.

Repeat customers to that site will get discounts that scale with their purchase history. Next time I order juice it will be like 75 cents cheaper. Add in flat rate shipping just under 6 bucks, I'll be back there again.

Sooner or later you'll have to drop njoys line as they just dont do below 10mg of nic, and you'll eventually have to stop being the stubborn old man and open your eyes,,,, there's a whole world out here. Come on in, the water's fine.

So far I think she likes it.  Nice easy hits with better airflow and better flavor with the bottom coils which are replaceable.

Most of all I'm really glad you're all giving that nasty stuff up.  I wasn't looking forward to spending my old age visiting my friends in the cancer ward at the hospital. t^

Went out to eat last night for a birthday Steak,,

Yea.. I don't get out much working from every day..

Was stepped outside to hit the vape while I waited and was standing next to the ash can and OMG.. I had to move..  then whe we were leaving I walked by a guy smoking and almost through up..  I was like OMG.. and my daughter said.. that's what you use to smell like all the time.

Now I think back to Poor Bob on a Tuna Trips rofla

Where probably.. the boat went through I bet a cartoon of Cigarettes..

I think we will see a "No Smoking Sign On Her Now"

She Quite Also t^

Some people don't believe me when I say this, but it's true.  After being on that boat for 10 hours and sucking in all that smoke, there were times when I would talk and puffs of smoke would come out of MY mouth! :P

I get my juice from these guys. I like the extreme ice. You can add more flavor if you like. Try the smaller bottles until you find one you like.

I like the extreme ice with 2 extra flavor shots. I tried a couple of the tobacco ones but didn't care for them. I have yet to find a tobacco that is good. I tried local stores and online but they just can't seem to get it right. When I started I bought 2 small bottles of different flavors till I found what I liked. Now I buy 2 30ml bottles with shipping its like $15.00.

Made it 4 weeks. Hopefully ya'll are staying the course too. Getting a feeling every now and then I need to grab a smoke, not an urge, but more just a reaction to reach for one. Truck still stinks, but it's getting better.

In another week or so I will need more juice. Gonna drop down to 9mg of nic. Might start to veer away from the menthol and try some new stuff.

Ok glad to see everyone keeping up the no smoking !
But let's be honest I must have gained 15 to 20 lbs in the 5 weeks since I started. Anybody else growing too ? I always loved to eat they say food taste better when you don't smoke or I am more likely reaching for those snack's to replace the nicotine urges.

Well in the long run better for us to quit the cigarettes now , May 2015 we might need eater's anonymous.

Keep up the good work everyone !

One thing I can say is I'm trying to constantly eat everything in the house, but yea I've put a couple pounds on, but I always go up and down anyways.

Started an elliptical a couple weeks ago and had a sciatica attack. Thats almost gone now so I'll get back into it.

I love eating tasty foods, and now everything is even more tasty, so I'm eating more. Trying to stay away from junk foods. I'm thinking sweets will have to be banned from the house.

Overall though, I will take a couple pounds over smoking.

Agree or disagree?

"Yet another study, this one from 2013, compared the devices' effectiveness to another common cessation product: nicotine patches. The researchers found that e-cigarettes (with or without nicotine) were "modestly" helpful for quitting. But, importantly, they were as helpful as the patches."

8 weeks now cigarette free. Celebrated by buying the aspire atlantis tank, nice massive airflow. May need a bigger battery mod now too. Eleaf 30w is running it fine though, not sure of use time. Still cheaper than smoking analogs.

Dropped down to 6mg nic level. Higher level nic was giving me a sore throat with the higher airflow since I modded my nautilus tank by enlarging an air hole on that for better flow.

Also got away from the menthol flavoring, I think it was starting to give me heartburn. Straight up foo-foo flavors for me now. A day now with no menthol and no heartburn so far.

This is day 10 for me without smoking the reel thing ( can't believe I just typed that ).   I decided to stop the cigs on March 26th ( my Daughters Birthday ) and haven't lit up since.

I'm doing 1/2 classic tobacco and 1/2 expresso ... A little over a tank a day... Found some Mango at a local shop that I switch too at night just to change things up a bit ..

So far so good !!!

Over 3 weeks no vaping

Over 8 weeks no nicotine

Over 8 months no cigs

Over smoking hopefully for good

I do find it kind of a weird feeling not smoking. Its just something I did for so long and now its gone. A big burden on my back finally lifted, with a major feeling of relief. This is the longest I have been with out a smoke in 20+ years.

Went out and hung with the smokers at work the other day,, not one single urge or thought of wanting one of those stink sticks. But did laugh last week when they where all huddled into a bus stop during the storm to burn one.

So far so good, occasionally i get the urge like while driving or having my morning coffee but the vape takes the edge off enough. Going to go from 12 mg to 8 mg next week and see how that goes.
