Need some advice! I have a set of 200 hp yamaha hpdi. My one motor is bogging down as soon as I hit 2000 rpms in forward. When in neutral I can rev it up and it doesn't big down but it does under way. I changed the fuel filters and water separator which had good clean gas in it. Changed the plugs cleaned the screen in the vst tank but it still is bogging down. Any thoughts what it could be before I have to take it in for service.

I call dirty Carb.. Restriction under a load t^

Need to check fuel pressure
My bet it's low.
Pinched line to the engine?

HPDI
= high pressure direct injection
of fuel @700 psi
= no carb
I think there are 2 (or 3) fuel pumps
my bet is the inlet screen on the HP pump is clogged
or the HP pump itself is bad

ON my old 2 stroke I had a problem with it bogging down at about 2500 rpm. Believe it or not, it turned out to be an electrical problem. The stator was bad. Mechanic told me that Yamaha builds the stator in two sections. If one section goes bad the other section still functions and can get you home. When the one section stops firing you are only running on half your cylinders. Sounds strange but it cured my problem. 5hrug

Mine bogged down the same way. It just turned out to be a bad plug wire.
