Title: 5/8 good fishing
Post by: Fisherman120 on May 08, 2016, 08:27:37 PM
Wasn't expecting much today with the high winds and struggle to snag bunker. Went to Great Kills with my dad to get bunker around 4:30 after mothers day dinner and it took us a while to get just 3. They weren't splashing at all and the ones we found weren't thick. Decided to go to our spot with the 3 bunker which aint much when blues are biting. Fishing started slow but became pretty good with the tide. Landed 12 nice blues in 2 hours and was rewarded with a 29 inch bass as the last fish. We made those 3 bunker last lol. That's my first surf bass of the year too. I get nothing with fishfinders/mono this year but once I put on wire and a clip I get a bass  5hrug

I also got bit by a blue for the first time ever.. Thank God I was wearing my stormr glove like I usually do to dehook blues or I'm pretty sure the tip of my middle finger would be gone as that's right where she latched on to...

Hard to figure fishing .You change up to accommodate what's biting and BAM a bass .That finger will be nice and purple in the AM .Thanks for the report .
