Today aboard the Down Deep Bull we ran another 6 am open boat Striped Bass trip with a great bunch of guys. Had to work for them today and the crew put a nice catch together of slots and bonus fish. Plenty of readings and warm water should keep them around for a while, with another mass that should push west.
WEDNESDAY NOV. 29 - 6 AM JUMBO STRIPED BASS W/ BONUS TAGS - FEW SPOTS REMAIN
THURSDAY NOV. 30 - 6 AM JUMBO STRIPED BASS W/ BONUS TAGS - FEW SPOTS REMAIN
FRIDAY DEC. 1 - 6 AM JUMBO STRIPED BASS W/ BONUS TAGS - FEW SPOTS REMAIN
Then aboard the Down Deep, on the Blackfish front we have sailed a few trips with no great shakes. Tough fishing with many at the rails with little reward. We see fish to 7-8 lbs every trip with nice roasters mixed in along with other edibles. Warm water seems to have a bad affect on the fishery right now. The Dogs are barking & Porgies are still on the grounds only reaffirms it. We will continue to grind it out and know the bite will improve.
