Title: 4/21 keansburg beach
Post by: Takes Prizoners on April 21, 2018, 08:28:30 PM
Was supposed to get in a shakedown trip today but couldn't get either of my 2 boat guys to come out. Planned instead to hit the surf again in the morning but just didn't want to get out of bed. Once I finally did, it was slow moving for me. Anyway, got one fishing friend to come out so we heading out around 830. Got down to the spot we tried Saturday to find the gate to the dirt path closed and locked. Drove over to the other side of Union beach to a full parking lot. Plan C, set up on Keansburg beach. found a small dead weakfish on the edge of the water. Also saw quite a few splashes while rigging up. Tossed lures for a bit then setup a rod with a clam. Had some hits but nothing got the hook into its mouth. after a couple hours and only seeing 1 fish caught, headed to Leonardo. Tossed lures again. Called it a day just after 2. Decided, screw everyone else and making a solo shakedown run tomorrow. Looked at the marina this morning before fishing and decided on rack storage.

Negative. Just got back from the ramp. And when I say the ramp, I mean THE RAMP. LOL. Trying to figure it out now.  Heard it is a supremely awesome bite the past few days

Thanks Al. Will Do. chrz Dying to get out. Going to get a pass for the ramp close by and make my shakedown in the river like I used to. Much rather go 10 miles than 30 and find something else wrong. Then hopefully the marina still has a rack open for me
