Title: GAMBLER-- Memorial Day Weekend Wrap-up
Post by: Capt Bogan on May 29, 2018, 06:26:58 AM
The Gambler had a decent fluke trip again Saturday morning. Some shorts were caught along with a few keepers up the 4.5 lbs. John from the Real Seat Tackle shop was with us and he landed his limit of keepers. John was sticking to gulp baits on that trip but some others had success with traditional spearing squid combos. The PM trip on Saturday was not as good; the drift got fast and it was hard to hold bottom.

On Sunday, the Gambler did not go because of bad weather. We were out again out again today, both trips, but fishing was slower. Some fish were landed, but not as good as Friday and Saturday mornings. Overall, we're pretty happy with the start of the fluke season.

Our night trip Saturday, for Striped bass was disappointing. No good at all but we will give it our all again this Thurs, Friday and Saturday nights.

I only see all these trips getting better as the water warms up.
