Title: BEWARE OF THE SCAM
Post by: harbison on July 24, 2018, 11:16:25 PM

Thanks to Mr.Warren Clark for providing the following:
BEWARE OF THE SCAM OCEAN ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS!!!!
"Ocean Conservancy" is one of the four big scams claiming to support environmental issues in the oceans. - but that is not their mission - just the image they find beneficial to market behind. Some well-meaning, ill-informed recreational fishermen have been duped into "liking" them and even donating t them.
The big four scams are "The Environmental Defense Fund", "Oceana", "PEW & Assocs." and "Ocean Conservancy" Their names and purported objectives would seem something that recreational fishermen could agree with. In reality, however, their mission is one to support a handful of wealthy commercial fish harvesters in an effort to limit access to the public's resource solely for themselves.
These four groups utilize their funds to promote and lobby for "Catch Shares" in commercial fish harvesting and are lobbying against the "Modernizing Recreational Fisheries Management Act of 2017 ("MODERN FISH ACT") - all to lock out small competitors and recreational fishermen from access to the public's own resource.
"Ocean Conservancy" has the audacity now to solicit donations via social media from recreational fishermen under their illicit guise!
These four phony "environmental groups" are promoting and LOBBYING AGAINST the efforts of the true fisheries conservation organizations and corporations like the IGFA, Billfish Foundation, FRA, Bass Pro Shops, RFA, Yamaha Marine, Maverick Boat Holdings, CCA, Guy Harvey Foundation, American Sportfishing Assoc'n, Center for Sportfishing Policy, Nat'l Marine Mfr's Assoc'n, Congressional Sportsman's Foundation, Sportfishing Magazine, Brunswick Boat Group, Seastar, Sportsman Boats, Contender Boats, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Foundation and hundreds more!
Recreational and small commercial fishermen, BEWARE!!!
1) Don' t be duped
2) Pass this throughout your fishing organizations and friends
Warren Clark

There will be those with 'special interest' that will buy into the scams, those who would limit public access for their own good. They must and will be stopped!
