hey all been busy with work and just got back from lake placid ny, john called sat night and i cancelled work to hop on board for a trip to the south ridge well at 330 am i woke to go down to boat and forgot i left all my equipment at my dads house so im sure i woke him fumbling in the garage to get my gear, hes 94 years old, we left port at 5am and were on the ridge by 630 am first setup got a bonito within 5 minutes at the middle ridge did a quick circle and motored over to the south side we found 3 spanish mackerel and some smaller bonito no bft about 1 pm headed back to starting point with no takers lost 2 birds to ? i dead stick them so fighting fish are not attached to the birds, blue water 82 degress and lots of weed lines were found great 1st trip will revisit soon, all fish were caught on clark spoons close to transom behind birds no takers on the farther spread, we saw 2 huge pods of fling fish smaller sized though, my biggest over the years on spanish mackerel is 9 pnd 4 oz almost state record, thanks john great trip next time will be on  my boat, we noticed no bird action no fish most boats werent trolling birds, tight lines all til next time
