Friday 5/3/18 - Today aboard the Down Deep Bull, we ran two more open boat Raritan Bay Striped Bass trips with great crews of guys. The morning saw tuff fishing, as we trolled up what we needed for all aboard. This afternoon we had a nice shot of fish up to 42.99” and once again the crew got what they came for and returned others to swim another day. Thanks everyone for sailing with us and all others who continue to book their trips going forward at a rapid pace. 5/4/18 - Saturday morning aboard the Down Deep Bull, we ran another 6am Raritan Bay Striped Bass trip for Al and his big crew of great friends. No stranger to the Down Deep, with many prior trips aboard, the crew was once again treated to excellent fishing and are in C&R for awhile now. 5/5/19 - Sunday morning aboard the Down Deep Bull we ran another 6am Raritan Bay Striped Bass trip for David and and a big crowd of great friends. David had a few cancelled trips in the past due to weather, but he wasn’t having it again. The guys slicked up and beatdown the Striped Bass in a good way, releasing every large fish and taking all the small slot fish they wanted. It was another great day and quiet out there too Thanks everyone for sailing with us, and all others who continue to book their trips going forward at a rapid pace. Perfect day totes filled fast except for the transient struggling that tried to play it too close. You need to go back south, maybe they tolerate that shyt down there, at your age you should know better. 5/11/19 - Saturday morning aboard the Down Deep Bull, we ran another 6am Raritan Bay Striped Bass trip with a big crowd of great new and returning guys. Needless to say the bay was a zoo, boat traffic & a tournament didn’t help fishing and kept them down. We did manage quality fish just not enough for the crew who fished hard. With the recent arrival of tackl busting Blues, Striped Bass fishing was tougher for the crew to get past the gators. A handful of keeper Bass hit the deck with plenty of Blues to keep the rods bent and guys busy who all had a good time battling fish. Back at it all weekend. Over the past several days aboard the Down Deep Bull we ran many more am & pm Striped Bass trips for many new and returning guys. Friday saw continued good fishing. Saturday morning we took our first donut of the season. Saturday afternoon rebounded with what should have been everyone getting what they came for, instead only got half due to angler mishap. If the captain and crew are fishing daily, we ask that you take our advice on “how to”. But sometimes the fish win. Sunday saw continued improvement and everyone got what they came for. There are still plenty of Striped Bass to be had, granted on some days they are finicky. The big girls are in our range now and we will be offering those hungry ladies what they want. Check our open boat schedules as we now mix it up daily. Special Seabass trips sailing daily at 5:30 am and Jumbo Fluke trips will begin this Sunday at 6 am. Excellent fishing with many keepers coming up all around the boat, PB’s were normal today and a little rain didn’t stop Sammi from getting hers at 30 lbs.great job! 5/24/19 - Today aboard the Down Deep Bull, we ran another 5:30am open boat Jumbo Seabass trip with a great bunch of guys. Fishing started slow but ended great. HHs of 20, 18, 16, 16, 15 and down from there, all ORL. Ling, winter flounder and a beautiful 8 lb. Tog (released), kept it interesting. Overall just a nice day on the water.
