Title: GAMBLER Report and Current Day and Night Schedule
Post by: Capt Bogan on June 02, 2020, 09:53:55 PM
During our daily 8AM till 2:30 trip, the Gambler has been working grounds that hold both fluke and sea bass. The fluke catch is still slow but the sea bass are helping to fill the coolers. We are hooking a few keeper fluke and some short fluke --just not that many yet. ...2 or 3 more degrees warmer should activate the flukes! In the mean-time, thank you sea bass! We are carrying squid, spearing and clams for bait. We have rigs available if needed.

Ralph R, who fishes with us regularly caught two nice keeper fluke on yesterday's trip, using a squid spearing combo. He also landed a few nice sea bass.

On some of our trips, we are also catching some great-tasting red hake.

Other species caught on our drifts this past week include: Bluefish, mackerel, cod, squid, sand sharks and sea robins.

On our Nite Wreckin Trip this weekend, we caught a good mix of sea bass and ling --both great eating fish. It was an absoultely beautiful night with some really cool fisher men and gals. We are running these night trips Friday and saturday for now.

Our trips are limited and we are following CV protocol, so we had to raise our fare by $10. It's better than not fishing but, hopefully (for our customers and ourselves) we can be back to our usual schedule by Father's day. Keep and eye on our site and sign up for our newsletter for updates.

Hope to see you aboard
