Headed out of Belmar on the Miss Belmar today, Capt.Jimmy at the helm worked hard........He was on a mission for sure. With only 12 fares on board he searched, searched and searched some more.
I think we were 20mi off shore and went as far north as the Atlantic Highlands.
Heck he even gave bottom fishing a shot....A total of two small mackerel were caught on the first drop and that was it for the day.
If by some chance there are any mackerel out and about Capt. Jimmy will give them a shot again this weekend, he also said he may mix it up and do a bottom/mack combo.
Till next time

Better to try than not. Getem next time.

Great effort.
It's tuff finding them with such a large area where they can be. Hopefully, they are not done for the winter.

Good luck next time.

It was worth a try.

I don't know about that far out but I have been seeing small schools of bait off the beach already. The birds are floating over them and just picking them off the top. With bait around therre has got to be larger fish lingering. I might try this Sunday for a while they are saying it might get up to 48.
NICE.
Happy Catching
