Title: Garbage on the beach
Post by: ped579 on April 15, 2007, 12:50:45 PM
Just a reminder IBSP is a carry in carry out beach.  That means everything  you carry in must be carried out including trash!  This Sat. I had to stop to pick up garbage left on the beach the largest thing was a broken beach chair.  The park has large dumpsters everywhere.  PLEASE carry off your garbage it is not my job to clean up or for that matter anyone else's.  That chair could of flown into the ocean and how would you feel catching an old broken beach chair.

THANKS

I too have walked out of beaches with other peoples garbage,,,,,

also just a reminder old fishing line and empty bait containers arent bio-degradable,take them with you..

last week i stopped at a stream on rt. 22 and when i got out of the car i saw hundreds of empty bottles, bait containers and even an old set of hip boots thrown up into a tree ,,,this makes us all look bad

Hear hear...

I have to say though IBSP is still one of the cleanest areas I have fished.  Most take pride in the fact that it is all our property to use and enjoy(even though it costs a ton of money to use for the year).  A little extra house cleaning is not much to ask.

Very well said. I don't do to much fishing off the surf, although I should cuz it's a hell of a lot cheaper then running the boats, but when I do go out, that is something that is noticed.
You deserve a round of your favorite beverage, on me!!!
