As NJ Saltwater Fisherman surpasses it's
One Two Three Four Five -Thousandth Member, we would like to instill a few guide lines on posting to insure the site maintains its top slot as the friendliest and most informative Fishing Site on the Web.
1) Keep in mind.. the fact is.. we all share one interest, FISHING. This does not mean we all have the same personalities or opinions on all subjects. If your opinion differs from another, you can post that difference, but try to do so in a non-malicious or degrading manner.
2) We do not flame , or belittle here. If we keep to "If I have nothing nice to say I just won't say it"...that will go a long way. If you have an issue with a particular member try to work it out with a private message.
3) Please refrain from posting any controversial topics Eg. Politics where opinions are many and the future of the topic can only go bad
4) Spamming: Spamming is the act of over posting. Stick to replying to topics that you feel you can make an addition to benefit the member’s original post.
Commending and showing agreement to a member post is always encourage. No one likes looking at the latest post and finding it full of useless information. We are a fishing board. lets keep that in mind.
5) High Jacking: Stay on Topic. Of course there are times that the topic will begin to deviate from course. That is normal. However, do not take it down a different road purposely.
Following these few guidelines will insure this Site remains as friendly and informative as it is. You Guys and Gals have done a great Job in the past year. Let’s keep it up.
Admins are instructed to wipe any post or topic that fails to follow these forum Ethics.
Thank You Everyone!

Nice job setting some ground rules. I have been particpating in fishing websites for 6 years and moderated on a very popular CT website for 4 years.
It's all about FUN and SHARING information. When you find yourself upset or too serious about a post just log off and walk away. You'll be glad you did rather than start a pissing contest that you'll regret later.
When people take the time to report a trip and make a post remember that you should celebrate their experiences and share in their effort. Even if you don't agree with their lack of info or techniques they still took the time to put themselves out there and post a report.
Like my gradmother always said "It's not what you say... it's how you say it"!!
