Title: Manasquan Inlet 8/28
Post by: Pfishingruven on August 28, 2008, 11:05:12 PM
Hit the Inlet today on the Point Pleasant Beach side.  Fished for a few hours before Fireworks with the family.  Started around 1945 hrs...a full hour and 15+ later than I wanted to, but it took forever to get the kids out of the house tonight.  75 degrees out, strong wind out of the east with some pretty good gusts, outgoing tide, very little current, no weeds, LOTS of boat traffic as usual, putting wakes up over the wall.

Didn't see any baitfish.  Only about 5 people fishing tonight.  So I was able to work from the handicap parking spaces down to the rocks.  Decided to throw a Rapala Xrap in Ghost Glass(the Garry Special) and a popper.  No takers on either.  Fished until 2130 hrs when the kids got tired and wanted to go home.  Only saw 2 fish landed....a keeper fluke 20 inches or so taken up closer to the River and a snapper no more than 6".  Nothing else.  Fishing was pretty dead at the Inlet...apparently all day!

Never saw fireworks either!!  Supposed to go off around 9, but nothing by 9:30.  Maybe the wind was too strong off the ocean.

Was a nice night out there.  Almost jacket weather soon...which means Fall is around the corner!
