Striped Bass Keyport Flats- 4/28 Evening.

Well, We only had one keeper while fishing on another boat on Sunday and After trolling around the Raritan bay for a few hours with Cashin yesterday evening with no luck. I made a solo trip today. I left the Marina in Keyport with some clams around 5:45pm. The wind was blowing pretty good and the water temp was around 58 deg. I anchored on the Keyport Flats as the tide started coming back in. I was in under 10' of water and tossed out 3 rods with clams and chummed too. I wound up with 3 keepers up to 34" and 15lbs. and 4 shorts around 26" to 27 1/2".
I went home around 8:45pm with 2 in the box because I was alone. The action was steady and still strong but I have to get up early tommorrow. Hopefully they will still be around in a day or two.   Eddie TT^

nice report...I went out monday evening...stayed out till two in the morning with only one short striper...was by the route 9 bridge...when I heavy chummed...I would see nice marks(arches) on my fishfinder but I couldn't get them to take my bait..can't figure it out...next time I'm gonna have a chum slick from Keyport to Sandy Hook! This is killen me rgmn

Nice report Hunter.  I was out yesterday in the morning till about 2:00.  Got the skunk.  Tried clamming them, then pulled umbrellas and stretches.  Not a touch!  There were marks in the channel and some along the channel flats.
