Misty Morn Magic Hour Bass 05/02/09
« on: May 03, 2009, 05:01:00 PM »
With Capt. Jerry at the wheel Jason & I were among a light crowd on a beautiful night on the water. Headed over the flats adjacent to Great Kills marking both bait & fish as we went.

Jason broke the ice with a solid 32"er. However nothing developed after that. Made a move to slightly deper water but after 30 minutes & no bite we started moving back to the west. Next drop was on the edge of Round Shoal wher another keeper and a bluefish was added to the boat's total. We were now in prime as the sun was setting. I finally had a bite & thought I gave a solid hook set only to lose the fish after a 30 second fight. After that there was once again a lull in the action and made our last move back to the west and set up in 10' of water. It was now dark and this seemed to turn the bite on as we enjoyed a steady amount of action. Most of the action was with shorts although 2 more keepers were put aboard. I lost another fish to go with the one short I decked.

Jason's first fish was once again good enough to take down another pool.

Nice report. Jason's going to have a pretty hefty college fund if he saves all his pool winnings.  TT^
