There have been some keepers in IBSP, South Seaside Park and Seaside Park weighed in in the teens.

I have been doing okay in the raritan bay too. Somedays are mostly keepers and some days not. The Blues are coming in now bigtime. The are on clams too and breaking many leaders. rgmn

The stripers are starting to be the fish of choice with a few blues being reported here and there from Seaside Heights south to the inlet.  Bait of choice is the usual blues = bunker, bass = clams.  But it seems the season is calling for larger hooks early.  I changed over to 6/0 before the rain began and today I moved up to 8/0 all circle hooks.

I got 2 shorts today.  Grumpy's was jumping at 4:30 tonight.  It seemed like everyone had to get out.  The bass are in and out but at least there are fish being caught.  The beach is in pretty good condition with only minor erosion but you have to be careful especially at night.  The drop off of the cuts can do some pretty nasty damage.
