Took out my retired neighbor John for some fun today. We left Wagner's marina in Keyport at 6:20 am. I arrived at the usual spot around the Keyport Flats and dropped anchor. We chummed some clams and had some quick action with Striper's and Big Bluefish. High tide was around 10 am. As the water slowed down we picked up and chased some seagulls that were working the area. We cast out some Diamond jigs and had all the Bluefish you could ask for. Thats always a fun time. The biggest bluefish was 12 pounds.
  After the tide changed and started heading out we anchored up again and tossed out some Clams.  The picking was kind of Slow, but we landed more Striper's and Plenty of Bluefish. The Blues were chomping right through our leaders and we went through quite a few hooks.
 This time flocks of gannets were all around us making several dives. I did not notice any fish jumping but they were very busy for about an hour. John and I kept our slow pick of Striped bass and blues till around 1:30 pm. By this time the sun was out and the wind stopped.

   Total numbers were 12 Striper's with 3 keepers up to 34", And countless bluefish today up to 32"
  And some sunburn!  I got the old farmers tan.. :P

Nice job Eddie...wish I could say the same for myself...took the old man out...set up by Old Orchard...clammed like crazy, nothin...out to Romers...nothin but skates...and lots of them. Were plenty of blues around if you chunked some bunker.  chrz to you!
