Raritan Bay 5/13
« on: May 13, 2009, 06:28:53 PM »
picked up a bushel of clams and out of Sayreville by 6:30 with fishing buddy John, hit the open bay and heading for the flats when we seen the birds working, stopped and had some fun tossing the metal and bringing in the blues, all in the 4 to 10 lb range.this didn't last to long, proceeded to the flats, anchored tossed out our lines and batter up with the clams, all we attracted were more blue fish, made a move further up and no takers.made a move over by Great Kills and still no action with the bass, was going to wait for the tide change but was having some issues with my fuel pickup to the outboard, moved back bay and decided to come in before causing more problems, got home early, checked fuel system and replaced separator and inline fuel filter, seems ok.John took some bluefish home.found out that his son John Sala was able to mouth some words today and recognize his mom, they have him in rehab at JFK hospital, from a previous post,John's son is the one who suffered a severe head trauma injury in an ATV accident about 8 weeks ago.he has a long road to recovery but today was a positive day for him. t^   Kez

At least you were out pop.  Don't get too worked up about the way the outboard is running, it seems like a minor fuel issue.  I know you'll figure it out! (By Friday if go with you then  :P)

Nice report Kez. I hope it is only a minor issue with your fuel and that you are up and running full force again.

Good news on your buddy John's son. Best wishes for him on a speedy recovery.

you should also replace your anti-syphon on the tank, sometimes they cause problems too, and its inexpensive. Nice report
