Cock Robin 5/16
« on: May 16, 2009, 05:57:28 PM »
Have you read any other posts about FOG!!!  Today was worse than yesterday, FOG-wise and unfortunately fish-wise.

Plenty of bait readings but the fish were as lost in the FOG as some of the little boats!!

A great group of anglers were aboard with high hopes, but we just couldnt get the bass and blues to cooperate.

We are back at it tomorrow with the thought that the fish will get on all this bait!

Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23 we will begin the night bluefish trips, 7:30p- 2:30a

We also begin FULL time fishing May 22, 7 days weekly, 7:30a, returning around 2:30pm

CockRobin.com gets you ALL the updated information

Good try. Hopefully all this fog will find its exit and get out of here.

It is tuff fishing in the soup when your head is on a swivel looking for other boats.

That's too funny!  I lived in RI for almost 8 years, and when I 1st bought my boat Kezsr came up for a weekend of fishing.  The bass bite was on, and I thought I knew Narragansett Bay after only about 5 trips!  Boy was I wrong.....I was trying to fish off Patience and Prudence Islands in RI and got TOTALLY lost.  Total pea soup!

Motored out to the spot where I thought I should be, Kezsr says there's the island I'm looking for!

Only problem, there were HUGE homes on the shoreline, and the islands I'm looking to fish were ubinhabited!

If I recall, we dropped and anchor and made an attempt until the fog lifted!

Now mind you, I had only run the boat a handful of times and never ever looked at the compass!  No GPS, just a FF. and a compass.

I can see how some Capt's get aggravated, cause I was one of those guys!

Good story. Glad you made it through the experience. You only have to live that once and you learn (at least most people do).  t^
