Left Wagner's marina in Keyport around 6:30 pm. I had to get a final trip in before I go on Vacation. I had Chris (Cashin) and Warren (WB)on the boat. Conditions were good and we headed for Romer shoal. At the shoal the readings on the sounder were not good $:-\$ , We cruised around for awhile and wound up with nice readings near the Sandy hook rip. And ripping the current was!

After around an hour of chumming and tossing baits, nothing was happening.

We pulled anchor and made a move to Saturday mornings spot near Romer shoal. After setting up and chumming heavy in a fast current things started happening. Chris hooked up with the first Bass that was a short. It was a good sign though.

Then we were catching some nice keeper sized Striper's. Also some blues and Skates in the mix.
The Striper's were hitting the Clam more than the bunker. We kept a nice chum slick going and one of us was adding plenty airborn scent of his own

. We were getting multiple hookups and things were getting fun,, Get the Net,, Move that pole,, untangle that line,, Oh, NO, I just dropped the Clam whacker overboard

I even dropped the net in the water but recovered it quickly. When we ran out of bait we head for the Marina for some beers and pics. It was a great time with good friends. The weather was good. Although it was much colder when we approached the shore. No more reports from me for awhile unless its from Hawaii

Total count was 19 Striped bass up to 35" and 19 lbs. 10 were keeper size. Around a dozen Bluefish and four Skates.
