Gave it a shot at Jamaica Bay
« on: May 19, 2009, 07:26:55 PM »
Spent my gas money and took the long haul across the bay on flat seas this morning...never fished the JFK area and wanted to give it a shot....armed with fresh bunker, and clams from Fred's ....arrived at 6am..beautiful and calm over there...saw some bunker and snagged a dozen...sent some down...destroyed by blues piece by piece...this continued till about 1pm...bunker and blues...no stripers..decided to take a few live ones across the bay to the hook...nothin biting...never seen  live bunker last that long...dragged them from the hook to Old Orchard with out a mark...amazing...what am I doing wrong? I am so confused! rofla hhppy rgmn 5hrug....as one fine Captain once said...its a double scotch night! chrz  will post pictures of planes taking off and landing later because I have nothing else to show! just kidding

You did have action today. Just were not in the same spot as the bass at the same time. Get em next time.  t^

Had another friend out on a charter..they limited out(8) on stripers biggest at 38...they were off Far Rockaway...bunker chunks...also someone told me he had 3 keepers by the sailboats just outside the R. River on clams....thought we were in for an awesome day of fishing...just didn't happen. chrz

It sounded like a good day to me.  Sun, salt air, bait in the box fish on the end of the line and a safe return what more could ask for? t^ grtn
