6-13 Early Am Barnegat Fishing | Phyllis Ann
« on: June 13, 2009, 02:47:11 PM »
Met up with Capt Mike, Bob Hareball at the Phyllis Ann @ 4:am Sharp.. loaded the gear and off we were to hunt down the hot striper bite of the week.

Broke the inlet around 4:40 Am to a host of many boats heading North for the Now well known hot striper bite..

As is goes...  there was none..  Most boats gave up around 10:Am when a heavy fog rolled in.. We ran a total of about 80 Miles this morning in hunt of some action.. Bunker were sporadic.. with nothing on them.. this was once again the same chatter from Manisquan South.

Did get confirmation a 50# bass was caught on the troll in 50-60 feet of water.. we also spent some time pulling spoons and stretches..
Capt. Mike ran the boat most of the day trying to get us on the stripers...  but when they're not there .. there isn't much you can do.

Back at the dock 1:PM  awaiting our next shot at them.

was a beautiful morning out there t^

Great effort and you did catch some nice sunrise shots.  TT^

I heard it was slow up north too. Probably too many boats around spooking the fishies.

Let me know if you get a day off next week, I should be going most every day and will probably have a spot for you. The bite may be better during the week without all the boat traffic. t^

Nice try guys.  I seems like all the action was tight to the beach as the beach was hot again today.  But of course I was not there once again.  This is turning into a non fishing season...Bummer.   nosmly :P

yeah all the boat traffic pushed the majority of the bunker right up on the beach but when your 5 swells away from the breakers it's time to pack it up and head to deeper water away from the boat parade.

I know you guys did I just read the report wrong.  Friday it was crazy around here as the B&T's were going crazy.  They were calling for more bait a few times that day as it was flying out the door.

It was crazy all up and down the island.  I am hoping to get out tomorrow if the crowds leave early as a lot have been leaving this afternoon already.  I guess they did not like the weather report.  Little do they know you can't trust the weather man.

But don't tell them that, ssshhhhh...

Happy Catching

Paul

Great effort!  Certainly was a fishing day and not a catching day.  Few days they are there and then gone the next.

Rod, you have my luck...like a dark cloud.  I scare the fish away, I think!!
