Yesterday, 8-1-09, I had the Saturday crew on board and headed north out of Shark River. Made a stop in deeper water off of the red church.  Needed more than 12 ounces to hold bottom. Moved further north to see if the drift would be slower.

Got to our fishing grounds further north and was down to eight ounces and eventually held with four.

Bob Cole was first to hook up with a fluke that was almost 27 inches. Stayed in this area for a while and picked away at some fish.

Finished the day with 6 keepers, half would have made the NY size limit, the biggest was Bob Cole's which weighed seven pounds on an uncertified digital scale.

Also had some nice seabass to add to the box.

Will be out again Monday. No fishing today, my 34th anniversary and will be doing stuff with the wife. Started off with taking her out on the boat to watch the Neptune City day fireworks display.  TT^
