Flukin' 8/17 The Reach
« on: August 17, 2009, 08:17:52 PM »
Netted peanuts and headed for the 14 can where we left them biting on Friday.Nobody home.Wind and tide were in sync,so we rode the Reach Channel east.Fishing was slow, weather was hot.The shorts were few and far between.A couple of ships passed threw the channel which seemed to only slow down the bite that much more.Managed to put 4 in the box before we headed in early from the heat and little breeze.Tight Lines everybody.See ya Wednesday

Nice report. Ya got some fish for the dinner plate.  t^

I was at the Shrewsbury Rocks today and heard some loud horns from north. All I could figure is it was from some bigggggggggg ships trying to clear the channel. Heard it two seperate times, about an hour and a half apart.

Ya,those horns had a lot of channel clearing too.The fleet was there. The last one that blew thru, didn't have that many to move.Total of three went thru.

Hi Stew,  thanks for the info last weekend. Do you think the ships spook the fish? ???  Seems very logical.

The ships draw on average 30' of water.Prop wash will definetly put a crimp on the fishing.
