RB & SH 9/13
« on: September 14, 2009, 11:53:44 AM »
Trolled swimming plugs while looking for signs of life from the Keyport 1 to the 11A, nothing doing. Marked fish holding at the 11A dropoff sent down some shiny stuff but couldn't jig anything up.

Beautiful day, calm seas in the bay- made the move over by the Chapel Hill and watched some dohchbag in a SeaRay almost get run over as a tanker heading down the Reach decided to turn up the Chapel Hill. Marked what appeared to be good fish near the channel edges but again no takers.

Released a 19" fluke that hit an ava27 (?!) as it hit the bottom near the tip of the Hook. Don't know what he thought that ava was, maybe a spearing, but probably I just dropped it on his head and woke him up. Man he looked tasty. Trolled around outside for a few miles with occasional small blues on stretches, then back in cuz I was ready for some FOOTBALL.

Good day even though unproductive.

WB,
Any chance you were trolling west past Keansburg heading towads the Keyport Buoy at around 3:00?
Might have seen you out there. Bay was pretty quiet yesterday.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!
