Being I am an opportunistic angler I do not pay to much attention to tides.  I do try to be out there the hours of sunup or sundown though.  These are the times that spark feeding I have found.  A good example is last week I caught a striper about at slack low tide when many sat it is the worse time.  So in my mine just go and have fun especially this time of year as well as in the spring time.

If you are thinking of fishing the back.  Put in at A21 and go straight across to the sedge island and fish parallel to its bank with a spook or a mambo minnow and hang on.  Good starting point.

I've had success catching Stripers thru incoming and out going tides and also during the slack tide, but had times where I was unsuccessful thru the incoming, the out going and the slack, just have to get out when you can and give it your best effort.     Kez

on the surf, I try to have my line in 2 hours before high tide.  I've caught quite a few keeper striper this season, but I can't say it's because I've found the secret to tides...just gotta get out there, enjoy the day and leave the rest up to the fish gods:) Recently I've been learning how to read the water and find holes, which seems to really have improved my striper hook ups...good luck!
