Stripers 10/22
« on: October 22, 2009, 05:42:46 PM »
John and myself out of Sayreville this morning with fresh clams and eels, tried drifting eels at the dry dock but no takers and not really marking much.hit the train bridge and John fishing while I held the boat in position, good strong current with the incoming,John gets one on comes to the top,a big Striped one,John has his hands full with this one taking line, finally John Starting to win the battle and he can feel that line is hung up even with the fish still fighting, the line eventually snapped,John took it in stride but I let out a flurry  of words to exspress my disappointment.John rerigged and also baited me up for the next try, here we go I got one this time, puts up a nice fight and get it to the top and can see it's a nice fish,John actually netted as it was going away from us,a tail first job.nice fish, just over 31 inches.that was it here, got hung up and lost a few rigs.headed for the flats off union beach to try some clamming,no takers, headed Triangle area clamming,no takers.went back to train bridge and tried with gulp live eels and nothing.headed in around 3,happy getting the 31 inch plus, would have been better if we could have got the one John had on.     Kez
