Irish Ayes Tog Trip 11/4/09
« on: November 04, 2009, 07:08:25 PM »
I had the pleasure of riding on Joes boat (Irish Ayes) today with the infamous Bucktail Bob. We left the inlet and headed north to drop anchor on some popular spots. We boated 34 tog to near 6 lbs and kept our limit of 3. Thanks Again Joe and Bob for a fun day. good luck,,  Eddie t^ t^

First tog trip on the Irish Ayes in a while. It felt good to get back into the groove. Only took two drops to hit our spot.

Good to have you and Bucktail back on the boat again Eddie.

We had so much fun today, gonna do it again tomorrow.  TT^

Yesterday's dearth of striped bass lead us to shift gears today.  Joe was ready with a half bushel of green crabs when I arrived at the dock this morning.  Eddie (Hunter 2) was there as well.  The plan was to try for some blackfish and possibly jig for stripers (if the opportunity presented itself).

Joe put us on some prime tog real estate and then proceeded to give us both a lesson in catching those tricky critters!  Eddie kept pace pretty well, hooking up with his fair share.  I struggled early, but eventually got my tog groove on, managing to land a few as well. ;D

After Joe quickly secured our three man limit, we played catch and release for the rest of the afternoon.  Eddie has the official final score, but I think our total was around 35 fish caught.  Eddie landed the biggest one, which went close to 6 lbs.

Although the striper action never materialized, we all had a blast catching (and not catching) some tog today! t^
