Irish Ayes Tog Trip (Part 2 ) 11/5/09
« on: November 05, 2009, 06:56:43 PM »
Eddie (Hunter 2) and I headed out with Captain Joe for another day of tog fishing.  After my slow start yesterday, I was looking for redemption.  And I got it! ;D

On the way out to the blackfish grounds, we stopped on some diving birds for some jigging action.  Caught a couple of small blues, and then moved on to the tog spot.  Lots of action from the moment we dropped the anchor today!

It was Joe's turn to slump a bit today.  But, once he got back his swing, it was game on!  We boated over 50 fish today.  Mostly all were quality, keeper size or better fish.  Many 3, 4 and 5 pounders came over the rail.  I had one over 6, and Joe had the biggest one at close to 9 lbs!  clp

On the ride home we stopped on some birds just outside the inlet, and jigged up some more bluefish up to around 10 lbs or so. TT^

The weather was gorgeous!  Especially considering we're in the first week of November.  It was another awesome day on the Irish Ayes with Joe and Eddie!  Great trip! t^

Great time on the water again today. Good catching, good company. t^ Bucktail had the hot hand today, Eddie picked up the fast bite for a while as I lagged behind. The the action finally pick up for me.

That almost 9 pound tog today is probably my personal best tog. Had other 8 lb'ers previously but they were in the low 8s. Nice fish. Oh, did I mention that it was returned to fight again.  TT^

Good job guys. t^
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!

Awesome day aboard the Irish Ayes today. We had a blast and we caught plenty of fish. We kept 3 keepers over 15" and returned all the rest. Joe caught a fish that I lost yesterday because it had our hook and leader in its mouth. He went back down to be caught again. The total was 52 fish and it would have been more if we stuck around. The guys managed some nice big ones up to near 9 lbs. These fish fight like crazy! For the weight they are tough! We also landed around 10 blues,,, Some of the pics were blurry so I'm only posting the good ones.. Cant wait to get out again.. Thanks Joe and Bob for the great time. And Thanks Rod for calling and checking in. ;D   Too bad you were busy today.
  good luck,, Eddie
