Shark River 11-21
« on: November 21, 2009, 06:53:02 PM »
Broke the inlet to find what looked like the spanish armada off of Spring Lake.  Joined the crowd and picked a couple short bass and several bluefish.  Worked North and there was another fleet off Asbury which we joined.  Final count was 14 Bass (2 keepers - released) a bunch of bluefish and many spiked dogs.  Heard a 30 ft boat off asbury call the CG since it was taking on water.  Coasties responded with Helo and Rib to dewater and escort back too shore.  Did not hear any more but I think they made it back ok.

Still do not understand why some need to run at full throttel thru the fleet then just suddenly stop to fish.

Nice report Dave.  t^ The idiots running thru the fleet is what made me get out of there. Some people just don't have a clue and I have no patience for that anymore.  nosmly

I made a wrong turn out of the inlet  5hrug but ended the day in the fleet. In my travels I saw the Helo and the boat in tow by the CG. Looked like he was headed for Manasquan and he was only about 1/2 mile off when I saw him.

Good work!
