Irish Ayes Bassing 4-24-10
« on: April 24, 2010, 06:40:00 PM »
Took the Irish Ayes out today. This was the second trip this season. First trip was Wednesday when the ocean was void of fish for us.

Had Johnny Oz and Pete on board today. Didn't hear of any great catching for the end of the week so we weren't expecting a banner day.

Headed to the Shrewsbury Rocks and tried some jigging. No bird activity and not much in the way of marks on the machine made for a tuff day. Spoke to Ross on the Lady J and he told me he saw guys picking up some bass on stretch 25s.

With no luck trying the

We broke out the stretchs and went on the

Final score for the day...four keeper stripers, one drop off and two blue fish.

Gotta thank Ross for the intel on the stretchs.  t^

Nice job Joe,

We went out that Tuesday afternoon and ran from Manasquan to the Highlands Bridge and never marked a fish. I never put a bait in the water it was so bad. Turned into a long boat ride without any fishing. After the full moon we should get another shot.

I may have provided the intel but Joe and his crew came up with stretches not only for his boat but ours also.

Joe saved the day for us as we were jigging with no takers

Our final count, three bass one keeper at 34inches

Thanks Again Joe
