Any Fluke in the Manasquan yet?
« on: April 28, 2010, 12:37:30 PM »
I've been reading reports that guys have been catching Fluke in South Jersey for 2 weeks now(Wildwood, Ocean City backbays)

Have the fluke made their journey to the inlets up North yet?  5hrug

This early and the season not open yet I don't think there will be too many people fishing for fluke yet.

Down south the fluke come inside sooner than up north. Also, most of the guys north are now targeting stripers with jigs and trolling and won't necessarily have a bait on the bottom where a fluke would attack it, although I have brought in fluke while trolling for stripers with the slow troll.

But for a short answer, I haven't heard anything yet.  TT^

Yes, I heard guys even sometimes can get them at the end of March down there during certain years. Funny thing is they say the best Fluke fishing for them is April-May. All in the mud flats where the water warms up in the sun pretty fast.

Doesn't seem like the fluke bite that early up north  nosmly

I just hope they are good and hungry come the end of may
