Fish the Drop Off report bass and blues
« on: May 05, 2010, 05:01:34 PM »
5/5/10
Open boat ran today with Bill Ross, Merle and Friend.  Found a nice spot close to the inlet for the last of the out going.  Shortly after the baits hit the water it was game on with the blues.  Had about 5 blues in the box up to ten pounds when two rods go down and they were not fighting like blues.  Had our first two bass of the day.  One was 30 inches and the other was 36 inches.  Tide went slack and we were back into the blues again and put four more in the box for a total of nine to ten pound.  Started to let go the blues and was still looking for some more bass.  Tide turned and the blues fest continued.  Then another bass came to the boat and it was 35 inches.  Shortly after that we had our first shark and then the bit died and the wind picked up and had nothing from 12noon to 1:30pm when we picked up and went home.

Clam.  Clam was the bait for both.  This time of year the Blues will eat everything you put out.
