Question about adding a bow railing
« on: May 19, 2010, 12:26:14 PM »
My girlfriend likes to lay out on the bow of my boat while I fish.  Unfortunately there is no railing on my bow and I get nervous about someone's wake catching her off guard and was thinking about adding a rail.  Plus I honestly just think it looks nice.  Is this something that I have to custom build or are there retailers that pre-fab the railing based on Boat make and model?

My wife likes to sit out out on the bow also. I was thinking of taking the railing off.  rofla

You can buy the parts and make it yourself.
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

Haha!  I have an ex wife...she's the only person I wouldn't mind seeing go overboard.  I'll look into making it myself.  Thanks Rick.

Although I have never been asked to do a bow rail, You can buy the stainless tubing and fittings and make it yourself. Labor intensive I would think as you don't want to miscut expensive stainless. In my opinion welded is a cleaner look. Get some price quotes and go from there.

Andy, perhaps you can buy Rick's railing and you will both have what you want/need.  ;D  cfzd

I can’t sell it Joe.

You know how it goes. Wife = railing off then girlfriend = railing back on. Then to wife and railing off again.  rgmn

rofla Just kidding, I have a keeper. She knows how to Launch the boat, pull the trailer and net a fish. We are working on baiting a hook and STOP talking.

I appreciate it, Capt Bob and I went back and forth about it in PM's.  I actually found an ad in CL where a guy is parting out a V20, so I am going on Friday.  I figure it's a perfect fit, so that makes things easy.  If it's in bad shape then Bob's is up next to see if it fits.  I intend on stripping this guy's V20 though haha.
