Fish Monger Sat 5/29 Al Durso Family Mixed Bag
« on: May 29, 2010, 09:35:06 PM »
Today we had our Great Friend and Fish Monger Regular Al Durso's Yearly Memorial Holiday Charter With the Family. Bill, John, Joe and Nephews Gabriel and Vincent rounded out todays crew.

Last year the guys had a Blast with Stripers But they are always down for what ever is biting!!!

Headed out the Inlet and it was nice to see the bait was actually schooled up nicely and Not Skidish. Made a Live well full of bait and headed north looking for some stripers... Looked around and made a couple drifts were we had some fish the other day but no takers... everyone we talked too was having a Pretty slow Morning.

Plan B - Decided to go hit some rock piles for some seabass... Since we were up north and not in the area we been fishing we werent sure how the Life or bite would Be.

Got anchored up and BIG Seabass started flying into the boat... Mostly all nice size... keepers out numbered the shorts... The kids were having a blast reeling in double headers and fish after fish. Wound up with 80 keepers quick off this drop before the action slowed up.

Hit a Couple more pieces and slugged away at em putting another load of seabass in the box!!!

Besides all the seabass, we had alot of nice size Blackfish and Big Winter Flounder all of which were released for another day. Couple of Ling, few Small Cod, Bluefish and Joeys Jmurrs Fav Both pout and silver eel rounded out a Real mixed bag.

South wind picked up Bit so we Finished up the day With some short Fluke in the river.

The Guys Boxed up 135 Keeper Seabass up To Johns 4lb 2oz Fish along with a couple Ling and Blues... Lots of other quality seabass in the 2-3lb range. No Stripers Today but the guys did a great job catching every other species in the Atlantic... Releasin Flounder to over 3lbs, Blackfish to 6lbs and some short Cod and Fluke .

Great day with a great Crew!!!

As Always a Pleasure to Have Al and the Family aboard!!!

Thanks again guys!!!
