Irish Ayes bassing 6-7-10
« on: June 07, 2010, 09:14:48 PM »
Had BobG, Ralph, Lenny, Howard and George out today. Left the dock at 130 and fueled up. Got a call from Captain Rich K who told me he was into bunker south of the Manasquan Inlet (thanks Rich). Took the ride there but only managed to snag ten bunkers. Had a hard time finding them after they dispersed from that area.

Took the bunkers that we had and drifted a lump out side of my inlet. No one home. Moved to Asbury Park and Red Church, no one home there either.

Went back south of my inlet and saw some great marks on my machine. Immediately stopped the boat and yelled for the guys to get their lines in the water. Four lines went out and the bunkers were instantly grabbed by bass. Three out of the four bass were landed. Largest was just under 30 pounds on my uncertified digital scale.

Had no other action for the rest of the trip but the four hook ups at the same time was great. The guys managed to stay away from each other's lines and they only pulled the hook from one. Made the whole trip worth while.

Be at it again tomorrow.  t^

Was nice seeing you out there on the water Joe, and nice catch. We came out of Manasquan inlet and headed north in the afternoon. Couldn't find bunker and when we were about where you caught your fish, we found bass on the surface, and great marks, and we had no bait, LMAO.

My son had 4 fish crash a pencil popper, but they couldn't seem to find the hook. Those fish dispersed quickly, and we couldn't find them again.

Made bait up at Asbury, and came back,(when we saw you), but had to get in, and didn't mark any bass anyways.

Even with the skunk, it was great seeing the bass surface, then crash the pencil popper, and it was certainly nice to see you. Again, congrats on a great catch.

Not over yet. They are harder to find. We got lucky and ran over them.  TT^

Garry, was great seeing you out there. There's not a whole lot better than seeing the bass on the surface. I saw a big commotion on the surface shortly after we came out. Turned out to be dolphins acting up.  :P

Have a great season Garry.  chrz
