Hello fisherman of Nj, I've been looking around this site the past few days and i've learned a great deal without asking any questions. I figured it's time i join up and learn even more! I'm here to pick up some fishing skills (other then the ones you need to learn yourself of course) to give myself something for me and my girlfriend to relax to. I've got my fathers old (actually kind of new, untouched for 5 years however) gear and tackle and am looking to give it a whirl. Thanks for all your knowledge and input and see you around the forums- Kyle

Welcome Aboard Kyle,

Where would you be fishing?  Plus would it be boat or surf?  Right now, we are into the summer fishing patterns so it is a mixed bag.  So, give us as much info that you can and I am sure the guys will steer you in the right direction.

Again Welcome Aboard.

Happy Catching

It would be surf for now and I fish out of Brick, so most of my ventures at the moment will be centered around Manasquan and Point. Sometime in the future ( like tonight or tomorrow ) I'm going to catalog what my father has in his fishing gear.

Welcome to the site and good luck.
There's are plenty of fishing opportunities from land in that area.
Be patient and enjoy the time out by the water.
