Got out today with my regular crew of the Bow Monkey aka LAB, and returning to the big stage Backdoor Billy... ;D

fished both tourneys ( RBA a single fish and Middletown Elks a 3 fish combined weight)... leaving the dock at 0530... fished outside in a persistent swell that finally laid down in the AM..... Bite was HOT right from the start as my crew boxed and couple of 4-5 lb fish...good pick for about 45 minutes the tide dropped out and wind shifted to the SW and bam the fish got the dreaded lockjaw.... bounced around till i finally found another good pod of fish where BDB boxed a 7 followed by LAB's 7 3/4 lb fish..... clp

stuck with the slow pick till it was time to haul ass to the scales... wound up with 2nd place at the ELKS with a 3 fish weight of 21lbs... and Labs 7 3/4 lb fish held on for second place at the Raritan Bay Anglers Tourney..... t^

bags of doe and meat for all on board..... thanx guys for another great day on the water....  grtn

And Congrats to all the others who placed in both events....

And YES Billy bucktailed a tog  5hrug
