IBSP Sharks In The Surf Night 2010 t^

I wasn't sure if I was going to be up to it this year, but we are going to give it a shot.  With the water being so warm the sharks are in close again,we have been doing decent this year so far. So let's put a night together... I am hurting bad still so I won't be able to be running around like a nut shooting baits this year but I can bring the rocket if people want to see it in action.

In the past the night has been a lot of fun, but the groups of people who have showed have always been spread out. Let's see if this year we can get the groups together and have one big group and make it more like a party. With the right gear sharks can be caught with a regular cast and I can chum up the waters a but with the rocket. Everyone has been asking me if we are gonna do this night this year, so let's see what kind of group we can get together.

I am gonna check the tides tonight for a Saturday in a week or two and we will make it a night we have lots of water. So let's get a name list together and see who is gonna show. It would be great to see and hang with everyone and meet some new people too.

I haven't been on here much and I know there are a bunch of new people. It will be another fun night I'm sure! So let's see some ideas and names for the night.

I'm in Ken.  Any day (or should I say night) would be okay with me.  Depending on how the beach is this year we might have to make it somewhere from A23 south.  I have not been out in about 2 weeks but at times A7 has been closed at high tide.

Will keep a close watch on it for you.

Happy Catching

Paul

I'm on the injured reserve list again, but count me it.  At the very least I'll come hang out and maybe the wife will try for a toothy critter.
Whatever date works for the fish and the majority is good with me.

The beach is bad this year for sure. Paul you know there is no way we can get a spot south of 23 on a weekend for a big group. 7 is open  but you can only make it to about 11 or 12. I was thinking gilikins there is plenty of beach there and a nice hole just at the enterence.

Like I said we have been doing pretty good out there with sharks. We caught a bull shark out there last weekend about 100 105 pounds.

We faught her for about an hour she had a lot of fight in her.

I also had a thresher finally that following morning sorry no pics of her I lost her in the wash after battling her for an hour. 4 trucks sat and watched as she made 2 huge aerial jumps out of the water and lots of massive tail slaps. She was about 4 feet long in the body and tail was at least that as well. I had her in about a foot of water when the line broke. I had no help so there really wasn't anything I could do, you would have thought someone watching would have lent a hand but nope. So needless to say it's a catch in my book . last week was a good week for us withthe sharks and as it gets more in aug it's only gonna get better.

It is hard to tell in this pic but I have others of the tail it's not a brown it's a small bull shark. She fought us real hard  good times

The problem with Gillie's is many will be walk on's and it will be a long walk for them.  We can shoot for A10 again this way there is a parking lot for the walk on's.

But hay, what ever works.

Newbie here and very interested in Shark nite on the 14th (or other night). I don't know if I have the tackle to handle the big fish, but it would be a good learning experience for me. And probably lost of laughs for everyone else  rofla

I'm in. Count me down for at least 2, maybe more. I'll let you guys know when we have a set date.

I can also shoot down there early with hotrod and maybe stake some flags in the ground in the direction of our "party".

And about the spot, since IBSP got wrecked during the storm a while ago, the beach is still pretty bad around A7 during high tide. But at night getting a large area shouldn't be that big of a deal. Maybe Kenny, Hotrod and I could meet up and find a good spot, and then I'll go back and drop some flags or something along the route.
