Baby Stripers?
« on: July 18, 2008, 05:59:04 PM »
The other night we were out in the metedeconk using a bait net to catch bait. Pulled up 4 or 5 little fish, about 4.5 inches long and nice and thick. They looked like tiny stripers. They had all the same lines running down the side of them.

They could be either baby stripers or white perch, that area is more brackish than salt, same as Kettle Creek area and both species tend to be in there. When seining in the Kettle Creek area in Augusts of years past, in addition to cathing the fish you mention, we've also often caught baby weakfish about the same size, and there's no mistaking them for anything else.
