NJSWF Islander Black Fish Trip 12/11/10 ( VIdeo Added)

It was fair skies, mild weather and calm seas for today's rescheduled NJSWF trip on the Islander today. The catching was slow at first, but thanks to the very hard work of the captain and crew, almost everybody was able to catch a few tog by day's end. Kenny took the pool with a fat fish that went about 7 lbs.
A great time was had by all. It was terrific to get to fish with so many of our friends here at NJSWF.
The raffle for the Grand Prize custom rod, and the second place raffle for the $50 Dick's Sporting Goods Bonus Certificate netted exactly $300 for the
RFA
!
Paul-E took the Grand Prize and put it to good use immediately today. Pete walked off with second place!
And everyone aboard received Hand and Toe Warmers, as well as a Dick's Sporting Goods $5 Bonus Certificate, courtesy of our good friends at Dick's!
Thank you to all who came out to play today!
It was truly a lot of fun!
Special thanks to the following:
"Wreckfish" Phil for making and donating the rod.
Captain Mike and Mate Mike for their hard work today.
Our very own Hot Rod for putting this trip together.
Darren for getting the whiteleggers
Dicks Sporting Goods
for their continued support of NJSWF
I had an awesome time guys! Pics and video to follow.

Very nice trip today!
The weather and company was great. Nice to some of you guys again and also nice to meet a few more. My only disappointment was that Hot Rod would not take the life raft to make a coffee run. But Rod teach me the Tap Tap Boom Boom thing.
Looking forward to the next trip,
Thanks to everyone for putting this trip together.

Finally the weather Gods were in our favor today...Awesome day to be on the water...
Capt Mike worked hard today and made all the right moves keeping the action steady all day...our mate Mike did a super job as well
Thanks guys
I don't think you could ask for a better group of guys to fish with...or better website to pull something like this together...just the ball busting alone today was worth the price of admission!!
Was great to see old friends and meet some new ones!!
And as mentioned I won the pool...My first ever!!! Just the icing on the cake to an already memorable trip
Thanks Rod and NJSWF admin for putting this little shin dig together...
Phil, you made a beautiful rod...Maybe Paule will let me give it a try next time we fish
Thanks Darren for getting the white leggers for the trip
Thanks to the crew of the Islander for running a first class boat
and finally...
Thanks Rick for showing me how to add 5 pounds to a fish just by the way you hold it

Man am I tired from all the skating around I did today. Didn't help me put many keepers in the cooler but was still a fun day. I had my one keeper and enough shorts to keep busy.
Was good to talk to everyone today. Saw a bunch of old faces and a few new ones. Great crew to fish with.
Congrats to Kenny for taking the pool. Thanks Darren for stepping up to the plate and getting the white leggers. Good job Rod and Bucktail for your work in this trip.
Mike and Mike did a great job keeping us on the wreck with such sucky anchoring conditions.
Can't wait for the next trip.

WOW, what a great bunch of guys. Thank you guys for the kudos. It was great to get out and meet new members, as well as seeing existing ones. it was also great to run the Islander again, it has been about a year since I last Skippered her,I did miss her.
As tough as the day proved to be I had a great time... Wish it could have been better conditions, but at least it was one of our better trips so far. Hope we get to do it again. Some members have expressed an interest in doing a Cod trip in the spring, maybe we can put a member trip together if we have enough interested members...
Thanks again to all and Happy Holidays!!!
