Had a nice two days of fishing out of Cape May on the 100ft Atlantic Star. Fridays plan was to head deep for a tile/seabass combo trip. Last weeks trip had great counts of blue line tiles in 350ft with fish to 14lbs along with a nice mix of big seabass. The plan was to leave at 12am to start the 100  mile trek south east but with the approaching front we had to change it up and just go seabassing. Great call by Capt Jim as the 20 to 25 mph and 6to8 seas on the grounds would of made tile fishing an exercises of torture. Got started right at day light and had a fair to good pick most of the day. Great size with a pool fish going 7 lb 10oz. My best was right at 6 lbs. some guys did much better than others and the jiggers had better avg size but the clammers had better numbers. Also Lots of bluefish to 7 lbs  and a few doggies. I finished with a 25 seabass limit with half true jumbos(4plus lbs) and the rest in the 2 lb range. My pop was just short of a limit but had 10 yummy bluefish to add to the box.Windy ,cold, and rough all day.Hit the dock at 8pm and cleaned some fish Grin.
Day 2
After a trip to a diner and a nap dock side it was time for round two. Great forcast and calm seas all day. Capt Jim hit some wrecks that
had very good action with small and medium fish with some jumbos mixed in. Also tons of blues and some porgies came up. Doggies mixed in but not to bad. Lots of current which was a problem most of the day. The Capt stayed out late(still fishing at 4pm) to hit one more spot that really payed of for many on board. Some nice ling and cod(15lb)also came up on this drop. Days end my pop and myself had seabass limits and a loads of blues. It looked like most ended with 15 to 20 cbass a man in the 2 to 4 lb range. Capt and crew were great as always and the bunks make the trips even nicer.
